|description||Digitally rebuilt from the copper engraving of Peter Ysselburg in 1,628. The Malefiz House was built in 1,627 by Prince Bishop Johann George II Fox of Dorheim and Vicar General Friedrich Förner.
This monumental building was nothing but a well planned torture jail. Hundreds of innocent citizens of Bamberg were brutally tortured and murdered in that house, which looked like a church and had two chapells for prayer - one on each floor. Thanks to the detailed plan of Peter Ysselburg you can see the complex architecture, the rich engravings and the planned method to produce witches and magicians by inhuman torture and permanent denunziation.
The end of every torture was a confession and the death penalty - "burning at the stake".
a day before the swedish troops have conquered the city in 1,632 the Malefiz House was closed - setting the last 10 prisoners free - a few years later (aprox. 1,635) this unique torture church was torn down by the citizens of Bamberg - the massive sand stones were used in building of the new monastry of the jesuits - about 400 meters away.
Althoug the city of Bamberg is a world heritage site form the U.N.E.S.C.O since 1,993 - you will not find any sign or memorial in remenbrance for these martyrs of the catholic inquisition in Bamberg with an approximated amount of 1,000 to 1,500 innocent victims - above them 22 young girls in the age of 7, 8 ,9 and 10 years old. None of them being guilty in any way.
This video shows the geographic location identification of the MALEFIZ HOUSE, calculated by Dipl. Ing. Uwe Krüger, Münster - 09/2,008.
